Laurelhurst Classic
Seattle, WA
Bathroom Renovation and Expansion
The owner wished for his daughters to have a beautiful sanctuary of their own within this classic 1936 waterfront residence.
To enlarge the space, an adjacent closet was captured and made part of the room, with the only remnant of it being the structural post left in place. The encroachment of the roof rafters, another structural obstacle, was overcome by a soft barrel-vaulted ceiling over much of the space. A modern jetted tub is centrally placed within the vaulted area, along with nickel shower hardware. Harlequin field tile envelops the tub alcove with blue glass tile cascading throughout and becoming the backdrop for symmetrically aligned pedestal sinks.
