Quadruplex Development

Snohomish, Washington 2006
The developer requested the height of efficiency, both in the spatial relationship and constructability. Simple geometry, repeatable unit plans, a trussed gable roof and common structural framing were part of the strategy. Within this two-story, 3700 sf building, four identical 800 sf apartments offer 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, and an open living area. Building facades are modulated to define the entry and unit layout, using shed dormers and a covered entry with expressed structural elements. Attention to detail, through the use of traditional window casing, skirt board and brackets at overhangs, expresses the Arts and Crafts aesthetic.
